AVAS 2025 Annual Meeting

April 6 - 8, 2025


We are excited to host our 2025 meeting in Atlanta for the first time. Please note our meeting will begin on Sunday, April 6th and end at noon on Tuesday, April 8th.

CME ACCREDITATION

Accreditation Statement

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and Association of VA Surgeons (AVAS). Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians

Amedco LLC designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Board of Surgery (ABS) MOC

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit. Up to 15.50 CME for MOC hours available.

You must request your certificate WITHIN 45 DAYS of the activity to meet the deadline for submission to PARS. Credits are generally reported during the first week of each month for those who claimed during the month prior.

Dear Colleagues,

The Association of VA Surgeons is now accepting abstracts for our upcoming Annual Meeting, taking place from April 6-8, 2025 at the Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta, GA. This event provides a unique platform for VA surgeons to share their research, clinical innovations, and best practices to advance surgical care within the VA system.

Submission Deadline EXTENDED: January 21, 2025 at Midnight Pacific

Topics of Interest Include:

  • Surgical outcomes and quality improvement
  • Advances in minimally invasive techniques
  • Veteran-focused healthcare delivery innovations
  • Surgical education and training within the VA system
  • Other topics relevant to VA surgeons

We encourage submissions from all levels of experience, including trainees, as well as those focusing on collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches to surgical care. Selected abstracts will be featured in oral presentations, offering an excellent opportunity to engage with peers and leaders in VA surgery.

The AVAS also partners with JAMA Surgery, a premiere peer-reviewed journal, to select quality papers from our conference, providing an excellent opportunity for broader visibility and impact within the surgical community.
